Mohammed, Allah, and the Intellectuals
After Mohammed made his triumphant entry into Mecca, he destroyed
all the ancient religious art. He then issued death warrants for
every intellectual and artist who had opposed him. By the time
he died, he did not have an intellectual opponent left in all
of Arabia.
Mohammed’s words and actions are the ideal pattern for Islam.
So it is natural that Islam dominates all thought and art in its
sphere. The death threats to Salman Rushdie, the beheading of
Daniel Pearl and the Mohammed cartoon riots are current events
in a 1400 year history.
